I made a photo pumpkin for Halloween.
I added this photo pumpkin project to the Kodak Tips & Projects Exchange http://bit.ly/2NKcNE so you can find more instructions there.
Alas it was too windy for the blimp. But I did get to go up to the
roof of the Kodak Theatre which is a very rare treat. That was pretty
awesome. And windy.
Whenever our toothbrushes wear out they don't go in the garbage, they go into an envelope and go back to Preserve to be made into park benches and other objects.
Preserve has a lot more than toothbrushes now. There are colanders and cutting boards and more... all made from recycled plastic.
Now Preserve is working with Brita to recycle their water filters. What a great idea!
This is a little ghost pillow I have on our couch for Halloween. It's supposed to be for decorative purposes only.
Stewie had a different idea.
Honestly, the couch isn't soft enough he has to perch on the poor ghost pillow? It looks like he is laying on a marshmallow.
Rochester now has a gourmet cupcake shop, Sugar Mountain Bake Shoppe and today was their grand opening.
They have almost 40 different flavors and they wlll rotate them throughout the month.
Cupcake heaven!
I liked the Peaches & Champagne, the Peanut Butter Chocolate and the Pistachio Lime.
Cupcakes to go!
Have you ever seen mini gummy bears? Approximately one quarter the size of a regular gummy bear. Baby gummy bears. I found them in the bulk food section at Wegmans.
I am so enamoured with the Sweet Millions New York Lottery commercials. There are billboards with puppies, kittens and bunnies all over New York city. Too much cute.
I tried to find the song in the bunny commercial but it seems it was written just for the commercial and the little bit in the commercial is all there is.
I am in NYC for a few days for work. I always cut through Manhattan Square Park when I'm near there just to take a peek at the dog park. Look at this little squirt strutting along. Pip pip.
Yesterday I came as close as I ever have come to screaming in the middle of Wegmans.
It was because I spotted a display of WEGMANS TRUCK PEZ DISPENSERS!
Is it possible that two things I love so much could come together as one?!
I can hardly believe it... they even have the place setting design on the truck cab. So cool!
I have a weakness for english muffins. Oh those nooks and crannies. I was walking through the bread aisle and I smelled these Season's Best Apple and Cinnamon english muffins. I could SMELL them! The entire stack smelled so applely cinnamony I couldn't resist.
The temperature has dropped significantly, and this year's garden has come to a close... almost.
I still have acorn squash waiting to be picked...
And another hidden beneath the vines.
Just one butternut squash this year. You are going to make yummy soup butternut.
Two eggplants.
We raised our potatoes.
We didn't exactly get a bumper crop there. About a dozen taters this size. Next year we need to plant the potatoes earlier in the year.
Mr. Smacky-chops here is such a nice color. Just the thing for fall.
Diamond is a 6-year-old male Lab mix who was returned to Lollypop Farm after a few days because his new family felt that having a dog was too much responsibility. He weighs about 60 pounds and is a strong boy who likes active play. Diamond has lots of energy and would love an owner who does, too! We're recommending obedience classes to help him improve his doggie manners. Diamond needs to meet any kids or dogs in the house (and older kids would be best). He's in our Seniors-for-Seniors program -- if you adopt him and you're 60 or older, you won't pay an adoption fee! - Lollypop Farm
I always look forward to getting the Wegmans Menu Magazine in the mail - there are usually lots of good recipes. The fall issue has crock pot recipes.
Fall is certainly crock pot weather and we kicked it off with this slow-cooked beef minestrone. There is a little more to it than just tossing all the ingredients into the crock pot but you can still time it that you get home and it is ready to eat with little effort.
In the past few weeks I have had many blog readers email me and leave me comments letting me know that Domo was on the coffee cups at 7-Eleven. I wasn't sure where there was a 7-Eleven in Rochester, but I couldn't take it anymore so I Googled it.
Aaron went with me and sure enough Domo was everywhere inside the 7-Eleven.
I didn't see the Slurpee cup or any of the other cool things, but I have another 7-Eleven to check! Thanks to everyone who let me know Domo was making his move!
What a cute kitty Mushka is, white with a brown toupee. And she does well riding in the car. Perhaps she can drive you to work each day.
Mushka is an 11-month-old female cat who was brought to Lollypop Farm because her former owner’s apartment did not allow pets. Mushka previously lived with dogs and children and got along with everyone! She’d make a great addition to any family. She does well riding in the car, and is curious and energetic. She really likes being petted. Come out to Lollypop Farm and meet her today!
The first commercial I saw was $15 corduroys at Old Navy... oooh I need some cords for fall. The next week was $15 sweaters... hmmm I need a new cardigan. I told Aaron... no more $15 deals would be luring me into Old Navy. Then they offered $15 puffy vests. *sigh*
Turns out it was Old Navy's 15 year birthday, which accounts for all the $15 deals. Totally nabbed me.
Aaron and I have been stopping by the Irondequoit farmers market to pick up items from Pappardelle's Pasta and Small World Bakery. The Small World Bakery granola is quite tasty as you can see, the jar doesn't stay full long.
The sage, pumpkin and chestnut orzo was pretty tasty too... Aaron made a brown butter sage sauce for it and we grated fresh parmesean on top. Nom.
Every fall Wegmans carries these cinnamon brooms. This year I caved and got one. Other than trying to keep it out of Stewies reach, its been great... it makes the house smell so good.
Now I am curious about some of thse other broom scents... cinnamon orange, apple, vanilla, Christmas tree, candy cane....
Today we had our annual pumpkin picking party and it was a beautiful day out at the pumpkin patch. Oscar looks so good in orange.
I think this will make a nice desktop wallpaper.
The sky was so blue... the pumpkins look great against it.
We carved and visited and snacked on pie.
Aaron made a screamer pumpkin and I made a Hello Kitty pumpkin. Boo!
