On our way back to Rochester, I spotted this Chipotle sign being hauled north on 390. We should have followed it. I am dying to know where it was going. I can only hope we are getting one in Rochester.
Food is good for the price. Certainly NOT 5 star. Founded/Owned by a 30 something guy. McDonald's has purchased a large interest in it - but do NOT have ownership/control!
a) This had better not be an "early April Fool's!" That would be cruel, cruel, cruel.
b) McDonald's does have a large stake in them, which I guess could condemn them to some just on principle, but their practices when compared to nearly any other restaurants in general and especially to others in the 'fast' food segment, are excellent.
c) I really hope that this happens, but I have a nagging feeling that it's not. I mean, someone would've spotted the "coming soon: Chipotle!" sign before the author spotted the actual sign on a flatbed, no?
Used to live on Chipotle in DC, but the quality has gone down hill over the years. They opened two locations here in Charlotte, and they are pretty gross.
I e-mailed Chipotle, on behalf of your readership, and confirmed that there is NOT a Chipotle coming to Rochester. "Hopefully we'll get there in 09", says George Seno.
Chipotle is bad tasting food. I've heard it's owned by McDonald's.

ReplyDeleteTrust me, if you don't get one in Rochester, you're NOT missing out. Bleh.

Going north on 390? Where else could it be going but Rochester?!?! That's great news.
ReplyDeleteMcDonald's sold its stake in Chipotle in 2006.
bendotroy - a. that would be a cruel joke
ReplyDeleteb. that's what I hear
c. I don't have a lot of hope either. My coworkers think it was heading to Toronto.
Personally I love Chipotle. I've read lots of complaints about how it's not authentic food, but to me it tastes good, and that's all I care about.
ReplyDeleteI am devastated when I spend lengths of time at my parents' house in Connecticut and can't have Chipotle. There isn't a single one in the whole state!
Chipotle is tasty for fast food - and it's surprisingly fresh. Much better than the other chain burrito places. Hope you're getting one!
ReplyDeleteActually, McDonald's has divested itself. And Chipotle puts a real emphasis on using products from local and organic farms. I lurve them.

ReplyDeleteNatalie from NC
The Chipotles in DC are amazing! So thankful that there is one three blocks from work!

ReplyDeleteChipotle is great! Too bad is not coming to Rochester. A good alternative is Moe's Grill, there is one in Henrietta and one in Webster.
