It's no secret that I love butter. So much so I get butter accessories as gifts. Aaron brought me home a butter cutter. Now I can have perfect individual pats of butter.
I also like this precision butter cutter , this butter curler and this all in one butter slicer/spreader.
And ahh... ummm... am thinking about my very own butter churn.
this is too friggin cool!!!! PERFECT!
ReplyDeleteThat butter cutter is great!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in a child development class once we made butter in a jar, by rolling it around. It was an interesting experience.
Found a link with the information of how we made it! :-)

Have you ever used a butter bell? It keeps your butter fresh at room temp so it's always soft and spreadable. I love mine - except that I eat a lot more butter when I use it!

Please tell me you have a butter bell (www.butterbell.com)! We have a red one...
ReplyDeleteWell you MUST have the Martha Stewart butter/candy molds she used to sell. Sadly they are no longer available, but I'm sure you could find them somewhere on the world wide internets :)
ReplyDeleteHave you seen Paula Deen's recipe for Fried Butter Balls? I don't know if my cholesterol levels can take it! http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,1977,FOOD_9936_34925,00.html
ReplyDeletejenny- this is going to seem super stalkerish, but i'm going to say it anyway. i saw you at east ave wegmans this evening-- pouring buckets of rain and i was thinking "i know that pug! that's OSCAR!" and then it was "oh my god, that's jenny!" i was the shocked girl with the rainbow umbrella trying to duck the rain. i must say i live in rocehster but have never seen an "ljc sighting" until today!
ReplyDeletehaha! you guys sure are fun!
I live on Long Island but I have good friends that live in Rochester. When I visit I always bring home as much cream from the Pittsford Dairy as I can carry. It makes the best butter because it is not ultra-pasturized. I make my butter (both cultured and regular) in my Kitchen Aid and then I finish it by hand. So yummy! A butter churn would be super fun.
ReplyDeletekimberly - I SAW YOU! I liked your blue purse! Ha hah! Yeah... we are crazy... we have been trying to go for walks in the evening and walking to the store for groceries. I knew it was going to rain, but I thought it would be a gentle spring shower... fun! WRONG!!! We got totally soaked and Oscar was so mad at us!
ReplyDeleteLove the butter cutter, I didn't even know such a thing existed! And I love your vintage butter dish. I'm always on the lookout for one, but am continually foiled. Not that I can't jump on eBay, but since it's not really something I need I feel like I should just wait until one jumps out at me in person.
ReplyDeleteSomething tells me you'd like my collection of Pyrex and Fire King. :)
that is TOO funny! i bought the rainbow umbrella to try and brighten up those awful rainy days but yesterday i was one of those rain complainers, it was a bit much for me.
ReplyDelete:) i shoulda said hi.
I agree, you MUST have a Butter Bell. Spreadable butter. All the time. What could be better?
ReplyDeleteI want one!
ReplyDeleteNice blog! I want a butter cutter too! Plus - it's fun to say.
