Stewie's favorite place in the house is in the upstairs window. From there he can keep track of the entire neighborhood's comings and goings. With the ridges along the bottom though, it wasn't the most comfortable perch.

So with Joann's coupon in hand I set out to make him a kitty pillow. It is of soft kitty patterned fleece and has rice in the bottom so it settles over the ridges. I uploaded pictures of it's creation to my project gallery.

Now Stewie can spy on everyone in comfort.

    i love the window pillow! after just reading a sad story about a mistreated kitten, the kindness you show to your pets is even sweeter to me now. glad to see stewie appreciates it, too. :)

    Fab idea! Particularly the rice. Even better if you can remove the cover for washing. (Says the girl with way too many cats who lives in a world covered with gray cat-fluff)

    that is brilliant! and cheaper than buying a cat perch, which i was considering for my two kitties. i also like typing girl's idea of a removable cover. hmmm...

    How is that the same window but in one picture the frame is white and the other it's hardwood? It even looks like it might the be the same day since that same car is parked outside!:)

    Great idea - I might do something similar for my cat Tara, she's claimed the living room window as her own private perch. She has to keep an eye on the neighbors, you know. :)

    Kate, I would guess the window looks different in photographs as the light changes at different times of the day.

    i love the picture of stewie with wide eyes telling you to hurry up with the pillow... he looks just like the kitties on the fabric!
