Aaron got me this heart baking pan for Valentine's Day and I just used it. They came out amazing. We liked the pattern so much we cut them in half to add the frosting so we didn't cover up the pattern.
The silcone pan worked great too, but it doesn't have the pattern definition the other one does.
What a cute pan! I recently got one from Williams Sonoma that makes individual flowe-shaped cakes. They are so pretty and make great little gifts to take to our friends and neighbors. I don't frost them, just dust with powdered sugar.
ReplyDeleteLove those cakes!!! What brand is the pan??
ReplyDeleteCute pan and lovely cakes! I actually just saw a cake-decorating show last night where the lady taught her audience to use thin rolled-out fondant to decorate some heart-shaped cakes. The thin layer fondant allowed you to still see the wonderful patterns on the cakes! Ahh... I've gotta start baking more often!
ReplyDeleteI have that *exact* heart-shaped pan (the metal one) and have had terrible luck with getting things out in one piece. I am normally a fine baker/cook...but this has me frustrated. How did you do it? What recipe did you use? Help.
