Little Miss Lauren will be coming home any day now and I need to get the baby shower ball rolling.
Unfortunately, I am more wrapped up in little baby animal food picks and mini appetizers than the guest list and invites. Gotta get on that.
I am thinking about a theme of "Good things come in little packages." All the food will be tiny bite sized.
With this in mind I picked up these mini silicone cupcake liners. They are about the size of a quarter. Bite sized cupcakes! Can't stand it!
Cute food always tastes better! You might like "The Book of Children's Foods" by Lorna Rhodes, which includes recipes for Fruity Crepe Faces, Zoo French Toast, and Animal Bread Rolls.
ReplyDeleteSorry for the comment correction - I had a problem with a url I inserted!
I own a rubber stamp that says "It's the little things that matter most". That's a cute phrase too.
ReplyDeletethat sounds soo cute! i might have to throw myself a little party hehe.
ReplyDeletethose silicon cupcake molds are to die for! so cute! they must be mine!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute theme idea. I'm so happy to hear Miss Lauren is coming home soon. Can't wait to see pictures of all the miniature cupcakes and things.
ReplyDeleteJenny that is a fantastic idea. I cannot wait to read about it. I also wanted to recommend a site my friend told me about called Yelp.com. I know you sometimes travel and ask folks for tips on good restaurants. I thought it would be a good place for you to go to find reviews on eatiers and such. Maybe you can write some for your city. I have already for a few places in my town. Ani
ReplyDeleteOh good lord those are darling! :) I can't wait to see what you come up with. I just did a baby shower for my BF and she picked "Where the Wild Things Are" for her theme, so that was loads of fun, if not easy to outfit @ Party City. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! We threw a baby shower for my sister-in-law and had everyone bring an outfit- then we hung them up on a clothes line- it looked so cute!
ReplyDeleteFor a baby shower I hosted I had quests bring in a baby photo of themselves. I posted the photos and during chat-time/transitions quests placed quesses about who was who on a piece of paper. Also, we played quess the baby food. Because I really hate games I asked a few people to read some essays from famous folk about how a baby changed their life from all points of view-becoming a mom, grandma, sister, aunt etc. The rule was no crying (cause I hate sappy stuff too) but tears came. Also, I was once hired to tell stories at baby shower. Which was better then games. Happy party planning!
ReplyDeleteThose are really cute. Will they keep their shape when you spoon batter into them, though?
ReplyDeleteLovely shower idea! Be sure to peruse Martha Stewart's Kids mag (spring '06) for the "tiny party" ideas...perhaps you may find more ideas for the shower!
ReplyDeleteI hope that you post pics of the little teeny cupcakes before they're eaten :)
ReplyDeleteToo cute... you are soooo cleaver!
