Did you know Target has online recipes? I stumbled upon the Easter ones looking at the Naughty Naughty Pet stuff.
It didn't make any sense until I realized Super Targets have groceries. We don't have any Super Targets and a good thing because I would have a conundrum.. Super Target or Wegmans?
Some recipies I found interesting... baked potato dip, big germans (an oven baked pancake), watermelon fire and ice salsa and fried rice porqupine meatballs. And that's just from the appetizer section.
The food at Super Target isn't mind blowing. It's cheaper than average but not inspiring like Whole Foods or Wegmans.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I'm originally from Buffalo and I'm now in Minnesota, and there are Super Targets everywhere (Target is an MN-born company). They have some cool food (I think they have a nice frozen food section), but it's nothing like a Wegmans. I miss Wegmans when I'm out here. Miss it, miss it, miss it. In fact, I miss anything considered a "real" grocery store. Out here, they don't even have BULK FOOD sections. What kind of world is it when there is no bulk food?
ReplyDeleteI agree with KT...Super Target is nice, but it's not as nice as Wegmans or Whole Foods. There are also Target Greatlands, which seem to be sort of a cross between regular Target and Super Target b/c they carry quite a bit of food, but it's nowhere near the amount of food carried by a regular grocery store.
ReplyDeleteJust to say the same...there is no choice. Wegmans is way better. I found SuperTarget's quality poor and overpriced.
ReplyDeleteI do most of my grocery shopping @ Super Target (there's a very nice one on my way home from work). I like that I can usually combine another errand (Target) with my grocery shopping. Overall, I've found the quality at Target to be good and I especially like their store brands for frozen and prepared stuff. But if I'm cooking something elaborate, I never bother with Super Target. They just don't have as much selection in cuts of meat, cheeses, etc. Definitely not the same a Whole Paycheck or Wegmans (I assume).
ReplyDeleteNow I don't feel bad that we don't have Super Targets here!
ReplyDeletei love the meat department at the houston super target i frequent (choice angus cuts!) and the prices can't be beat.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Super T's store brand is awesome....but otherwise not that great, the produce department particularly sucked at the one in Tuscaloosa while I was in law school - Rebecca
ReplyDeleteStick with Wegmans. Super Target is overpriced and their fruit and veggie selection is noting compared to Wegmans. Every time I visit Rochester my children and I have a blast shopping at Wegmans. I sure wish we had a Wegmans down South.
ReplyDeletethat watermelon salsa sounds crazy! let me know if you make it!! i think i may when i see a good melon in the store!! thanks for the info!
ReplyDeleteThe tried to Super our Target but it's more the equivelent of a convenience store version as opposed to our Super Walmart. So I don't know what to call that. A Satisfactory Target? A Wonder Target? A Somewhat Dissapointing Super Target? A Midrange Target...
ReplyDeleteMmmmmm, Potato chip dip looks easy and wonderful. I'll have to give this one a try. Thanks. No superT around here either.
ReplyDeleteenjoy your blog. Loved the dog hoodies.
SuperTarget in Houston is definitely overpriced, more like convenience store pricing than grocery store (atleast compared to Kroger and Randalls)
