I love kitchen appliances that look like the food they cook. (almost as much as I love animals dressed up as other animals) My egg shaped egg cooker is along these lines.
I just saw a garlic cooker in a catalogue. We don't eat that much garlic, but now I am thinking we might if we had a handy dandy garlic shaped electric garlic roaster. Cute!
Those eggy things are cute. I have a fondue pot shaped like a hershey's kiss. That garlic pot is adorable. You probably eat more garlic than you think. Pasta sauces, meatloaf, soups, etc.
ReplyDeleteYeah... we eat a lot of garlic in things... just not a lot of roasted garlic, although I love it smeared on toasted french bread.
ReplyDeleteI see. But you thought of one good reason to get it;)
ReplyDeleteHere's some more food-shaped appliances: SuperPepper from Alessi.
ReplyDeleteI've given these as house-warming gifts.
Jenny,
ReplyDeleteDon't get that thing that only serves one purpose (thank you, Alton Brown) and will problably get quite stinky. You can throw that garlic head in tin foil with a little olive oil. Pitch it when you are done.
That is darling! :) Have u seen the sandwich presses shaped like a cow? They're apparently v. popular in England. Jamie Oliver has them in his Jamie's Dinners cookbook. I kinda want one, but not enough to get rid of my George Foreman Grill and buy a power adapter. ;)
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with Julia. Why not get some of these multi-purpose casserole dishes from Le Creuset?
ReplyDeleteOf course its a larger investment than the garlic roaster but just think of the casserole and serving possibilities (at least that's what I'm telling myself... lol)
I love your website design...i don't remember exactly how i found your blog - but i visit from time to time.
ReplyDeleteAnyway - u thought of your site today when i saw the launch of the Weblog Awards http://weblogawards.org/
