Harry potter at midnight.
We went to Wegmans, after spending the evening with Chuck and Tina at Cibon, to pick up the new Harry Potter. People that had pre-ordered and pre-paid were standing in a long line while everyone else just walked up to a stack of them, picked one up and paid for it at a register. I got the UK version because that is what all my other Potter books are. I got the first three in London and have stuck with that version ever since.
Oooo, did you guys go to Canada to get yours??
ReplyDeleteI got the US version & read it before 530am.
I stopped at Barnes and Noble to buy mine today and also tried the Green Tea Frappucino. It was to-die-for! I couldn't wait to try it after reading your blog yesterday!
ReplyDeleteYeah, Brian pre-ordered his and he was so bummed that he doesn't already have it..it was supposed ot be shipped to him - he is not happy. BTW..the different cover is cute..didn't even know they offered the UK version here.
ReplyDeleteYay! I KNEW you had to be a Harry fan! My husband and I picked it up at the midnight party at our local indie bookstore, and finished it quite quickly that same day. It's our favorite yet! Rowling has the most fantastic imagination - I am in awe of her talent.
ReplyDeleteI've always thought the US covers were kinda ugly IMO. I guess there are slight text differences as well.
ReplyDeleteI picked mine up at midnight too- although like you I am a tea drinker, I could not resist a butterbeer coffee! The bookshop I got my copy from had turned their cafe into the Leaky Cauldron for the night, and were offering toffee vanilla lattes as butterbeer! I did not realise in America you have different covers- we have an adult and a child version here. (The child one is best!)
