Long time readers may remember times when I have mentioned my friend Joel. A busy dad, he doesn't post to his blog much anymore, but I still bug him about it occasionally. He may not be blogging a lot, but he is embarking on a mission that is certainly going to take up a great deal of his time.
I like to think I had something to do with encouraging him in this endeavor. One day at the office he was telling me about a Leukemia and Lymphoma Society fundraising 100 mile bike ride that he was asked to participate in. He said he has always wanted to do something like this. I asked him if he was going to do it and he replied that it was a daunting amount of money to raise. I told him if he did it he could count on me to kick in as much as I could.
I am happy to say he has dedicated himself to the process... training (very early in the morning and let me say I have seen him early in the morning and it isn't pretty), getting the word out and setting up a web page. Please take a moment to read over his site and if you can, donate to the cause. The money goes toward the Western New York & Finger Lakes chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Leukemia has touched Joel's life, as you can read here. I have met Logan and wondered if he truly understands what happened to his mom. I know it means a lot to Joel to do this and he will dedicate himself 100% to it. Yay Joel!
