I was innocently perusing the womens jeans at target.com, knowing full well I should be Christmas shopping for others, when these GINORMOUS jeans caught my eye. These aren't just big jeans, nor are they large jeans... they are SUPER jeans. A strong gust of wind and your off like a kite!

Is this what the kids are wearing these days?

  4. I'm stunned. I'm laughing. I'm crying. I'm hoping I don't fall victim to these, for that would not be pretty.

  5. I intend to mix a bit of boot shopping with gift shopping myself.
These look like the jeans high schoolers make themselves by sewing two or three pairs together to get the tent effect.
Big question - why would anyone pay $50 for them? The kids I see wearing the sewn up jeans are the same ones that prefer their clothes run over, torn up, painted, full of holes. I just don't see them paying....

  6. I haven't seen jeans that big except on little rave kids at the mall. They remind me of my mom making me wear koolats (is that how you spell it?) when I was in elementary school. I thought I was cool, but I definitely wasn't. Koolats are not cool!

  7. Those pants were popular by the kids who listened to punk rock and new wave and rap music at my college in the 90's.

  8. These totally bring back memories of my elementary school Dittos back in the 70s. I had a rust colored pair that I loved to wear with a patchwork vest and boots. So are gauchos back in style, too? ewwww.

  9. Those are hideous and expensive. I can't imagine anyone wearing them. Did Issac sign off on them before they hit Target? I hope he didn't because that would suggest that he thought they were stylish and then I would lose all my confidence in him.

  13. Whoah! SUPER JEANS....da da da DAAAAA! (maybe they have super powers?)

They're pretty horrible. And would probably be hard to walk in too. If this is what the kids are wearing I just give up.

  14. um...i kinda like them too. i think if the "model" wasn't sorta-squatting-but-mostly-just-looking-deformed-like the jeans might actually be kind cute. they way she standing bothers me more than the jeans. A LOT.

  15. Yeah that model pose is wonky... that is not a natural stance.

  18. I have a picture of myself wearing a white pair of jeans just like those -- in 1973! They looked pretty cute -- but I also was 105 lbs. back then. They are for the young and skinny.

  19. Like Gouchos only of a fabric that doesn't turn into a flowy skirt/pant...bleh.

All I could think about is meeting one of my son's friends when he was 12 (back when JNCOs were really big here) - the boy was wearing a pair of those! I'm not allowed to remind him now...

  20. No no no... that is not exactly the type of pant that is in right now... the legs aren't as wide... they're about 1/2 of what the pic is showing... i know i wouldn't purchase anything that were that big and im 20... reminds me of mc hammer pants... :)
