Either you're psychic, or I'm psychic, because just yesterday, I looked down at my feet and mused, "these sneaks are pretty ratty...I need some new ones for knocking around...but I don't need more running shoes....I wish you could still get those Tretorns I had so many pairs of in college...I haven't seen those in years, I bet they don't even make them anymore. Bummer."
Somebody's got some sort of wistful shoe ESP going on around here.
Strangely enough, I just had a similar recollection of Tretorns. Was having a conversation with a friend the other day about 80's fashions and what we wore; how many color Izod shirts did we have, what charms were on our charm necklaces, Clinique makeup, etc... and I suddenly remembered Tretorns - how comfortable they were and how many pairs I used to own. Then wondering why I don't own a pair now??!! Must look into where I can purchase Tretorns in Atlanta.
Oooh...yes! I had a pair with blue/green plaid, they were the best.
I know that my mom still wears the classic white Tretorns but she's says they're hard to find in stores. I will let her know that she may be at the forefront of a Tretorn revival! :)
I just saw some in a catalog called "Garnet Hill" for $60 so I looked online and found a couple of places that sell them but they were $60 there too. I loved them, I had white, yellow plaid, blue, pink and something else. They were the first shoe that I ever bought duplicates of!! I really want a pair now!!
