At the recommendation of Joel, Aaron and I tried the Shrimp and Vegetable Tortilla recipe out of the Wegmans magazine. My bag of asian slaw went bad so we had to double up on avocado, but it was delicious! It is entertaining too, because you cook the shrimp and tortillas on the grill. I found the extra avocado and a sprinkle of green onion made it even tastier.

I went to the website to find a link for the recipe and saw that it was being featured in a food screensaver. The screen saver is cool... it has pics of dishes and then links to the recipes. The food gets updated each week. I haven't downloaded it yet... I am worried that if I have it at work I will become ravenously hungry everytime I see it.

    totally unrelated to the food but is that the bbq from target? if so how do you like it? thanks!!!

    We actually don't cook on that... well besides toasting marshmallows. I think we may have done hotdogs over it once, it did come with a little grilling rack. We mostly use it to sit around and keep warm and watch the flames.

    I just went the wegmans site since you are always raving about it and was excited to see there is a store kind of in my area. I live in DC and this one looks to be about 45 mins away....is it worth the trip? It is all that I've dreamed about in a grocery store? What do you think? d

    More on the fire pit, do you have/use the screen dome cover? I bought ours at KMart because it had the grill but it didn't have the dome and now I'm scared to use it - I worry an elusive spark is going to set the yard ablaze. But if you don't use the dome, I would feel secure enough to proceed with my s'mores (and promise not to sue like all the kids these days if in fact my yard does turn to char). -Kay

    Yes... we have a screen for the firepit... I got it and the bbq grill for it on the Smith and Hawken online store.

    As for Wegmans... I think it's worth a trip... but I also haven't been to some other grocery stores like WholeFoods that you might be near that are pretty good.
