Include this in with the time I watched Chicken Run and went home really hungry for chicken pot pie. Or the time Aaron wanted McDonalds the day after seeing SuperSize Me.
After seeing Napoleon Dynamite (read Aaron's review) last week, I have had a craving for tater tots. I remembered reading that Alton Brown had made a tatertot casserole once. I found a recipe for tatertot casserole on Super Eggplants site. (She is a cooking/sewing/knitting machine) It looks so taterlicious. I will be making it this week.
Mmmm...tater tots.....
ReplyDeleteIf you're ever in Chicago, go to Silver Cloud. They offer tater tots as one of your choices to substitute for fries. And you can order make-your-own-smores as a dessert...you get your own little sticks and marshmallows and sterno flame.
You should also take a look at Tater Tot Hot Dish, in both tots on top:

I haven't tried these myself. If you do let us know how it turns out!
question -- do the tots stay crunchy?

ReplyDeleteBe forwarned; this stuff looks vile. I almost threw it out. But I'm glad we at least tasted it because it's really good.

1 sm Onion, chopped
1 C Shredded Cheddar
1 (16 oz) pkg Tater Tots
1/2 soup can Milk or Water
Brown and season (salt/pepper) meat & onion; drain. Put in greased 1 1/2 qt casserole. Top w/tater tots. Combine soup & milk; pour over tots and sprinkle with cheese. Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes.
