Lunar New Year
We just finished our Mardi Gras celebration at work. We had mask making, beads, a pinata and Kings Cake. I didn't know much about Mardi Gras until I moved to Rochester and started going to Matt's Mardi Gras parties. I am more familiar with the other holiday that fell on today... the First Day of the Lunar New Year.
Everyone calls it the Chinese New Year... but it is the Korean New Year too. I think the Japanese and Vietanamese also celebrate the Lunar New Year. I had some Lunar New Year cards to send out but the Post Office totally screwed me up. They issued their "Year of the Horse" stamps just yesterday. How is a person supposed to get their card ON New Years if the special stamps come out only day before? I mean really. I had to use some "Year of the Rabbit" stamps I had left over from a few years ago. All wrong!
