A while ago we recieved an urgent message at work. We were all instructed to trade in our passes for new passes. The new passes were intended to work with a proximity reader, so we wouldn't have to swipe our cards to get into the building anymore. The readers would read a chip inside the card, sort of like the Mobil Speed Passes. If your arms are full, it should be easier to get in . Great. Super.
So we all haul up to the gym and stand in two hour lines to get these wonderful new passes. Several months later there are still no proximity readers for us to use our shiny new passes with. Our new battle cry was "Proximity pass my a**". I started to suspect that there were no proximity readers. I believed that there were microchips in our new passes that tracked our every move. (note to self... stop watching spy movies late at night)
Today when I left work a little early due to a sore throat, lo and behold the new readers were there. I stand in front of it. Nothing. I step closer. Nothing again. I wave the pass in front of it. No response. I rub the pass all over the reader box. Beeeeeep. I am let through.
The proximity passes are not all that approximate.
Fall shoes
Apparently driving mocs are the "in" shoe this fall.
Errghh. Must...find...driving....mocs.
