Today a dozen pumpkins met their fate as they were ruthlessly snatched from their vines, jabbed, gutted and then carved. It was hideous. Oh yeah. Then we ate pies made from their innards. Mwah-hah-hah-hah.
It was actually a lot of work. The pumpkins were not sold "by the pound" so we were determined to take advantage and find the biggest pumpkins we could. But we forgot that Joel said pumpkins were extra heavy this year (that means it's gonna be a rough winter).
Andy scoured the field looking for pumpkins as huge as he. Patrik was trying to find the largest and most disfigured. It was after we heaved the suckers into Abby's trunk, huffing and puffing, that we realized we would have a quite a job on our hands.
Three hours later we had a fine group of gutted jack o'lanterns and Tina had enough pumpkin seeds for toasting to last a year.
